The choice of recarburizers can reduce the production cost of castings. The raw materials and production processes of recarburizers are diverse, such as wood carbon, coal, coke, graphite, etc., among which there are many small types, and there are many classifications. Recarburizer generally refers to the recarburizer after graphitization. Under high temperature conditions, the arrangement of carbon atoms presents the microscopic morphology of graphite, so it is called graphitization.

For example, it is often used to smelt pig iron, scrap, reheating material, and the iron carbon content is high, but it is relatively high in the purchase price of scrap steel. The carbon content of the ladle can be adjusted by adding a special grade of recarburizer to the ladle after slagging and degassing, so as to achieve the purpose of multi-standard packaging. Common electrode blocks and recarburizers have the advantages of high carbon content and strong oxidation resistance, but the production process is complicated and the cost is high. Using coke powder and graphite as recarburization materials has lower production costs than electrode blocks and other materials, but the ash and sulfur content is high, the carbon content is low, and the recarburization effect is not good.
