However, it is necessary to avoid adding a large amount of material to the molten iron to avoid the case where the carburizing effect is not obvious due to excessive oxidation and the carbon content of the casting is insufficient. The hot metal recarburization technology of recarburizer manufacturers can add graphite nuclei in the smelting process, especially in electric furnaces. Adding in the cupola smelting can also increase the growth of graphite nuclei in the molten iron and reduce the oxidation of the molten iron.
Graphitized petroleum coke
Carbonization is a measure to prevent or reduce the tendency to shrink. Due to the graphitization and expansion during the solidification of molten iron, good graphitization will reduce the tendency of molten iron to shrink. In order to obtain high-strength gray iron castings under high carbon content conditions, the smelting process uses scrap steel and recarburizers to make the molten iron more pure and produce castings with high material properties. When smelting, clean materials that are not polluted should be used to avoid leakage or excessive scum.
Generally speaking, the quality requirements of ordinary petroleum coke are not high, and the light oil products produced are also low-quality oil products with high residual carbon value and high metal technology content. Only through secondary processing can the qualified oil be developed. However, natural graphite will appear in nature, and people in the foundry industry often use graphite because artificial graphite has many advantages, such as the porosity, carbon content, and graphitization degree of artificial graphite, which can better meet the requirements. At the same time, petroleum coke is mainly used to produce graphite.
